To one of the most exciting and impacting places in the middle of no where. We set ourselves to visit this destination on a bright Saturday afternoon without any clue of where we were going. Joyce had the full road map but no actual idea of the place... hahaha. We set out at around 1 pm along the busy Mombasa road. The sunny weather had set us on the mood of swimming not to realize reaching Mlolongo area will somehow change our burning swimming sensation (am including myself in the swimming number as if i know how to.. but of course i know how to swim, at the kids end😂). Our short lived excitement was interrupted by a heavy downpour that caused heavy traffic along the busy road. Jack, a close friend from the other side..hehe.. loves adventure so much. He can do anything to fulfill every plan made. In fact on this particular day he had offered us a free drive to the Last Village. Reaching this point he had started opting to go back and come another time, " Joyce, let us just cancel and come back another time",but he couldn't resist the persistence from Joyce, "no matter what comes we should get to this place, no turning back". We didn't know what was waiting for us ahead.

The Last Village Lounge is about 15 km from the Mombasa road taking a diversion into Mutunguini murram road. At this time the road was heavily flooded and our first challenge was to drive through the overflown river. Motorbikes were packed on both sides while some people stranded not to know how to cross. Eventually we had to take our position and set ourselves ready to cross. Jack was quite hesitant to take the bold step, but anyway we had no other alternative, we held on to our stand. We finally made it, some watched in surprise as if they expected us to be carried away by the many waters, God was with us, for this was our first test. The road was quite slippery, any fault would have made us sway or the car to overturn. To our amazement after a few kilometers the other half of the murram road was dry meaning it had not rained on this area. It was a sigh of relief as we drew closer to our destination.
The last village is situated in quite a remote location in Machakos County, the resort is quite near Kangundo road (only 4 km away) on your way from Kamulu to Joska as compared to Mombasa road. Actually we knew this after getting to the place. It offers quite a serene environment to relax from the hustles and bustles of the city life, or a place to just have some good time with your family. Some of the activities offered include swimming, children's corner, bike riding, team building, and nature walk. Among the accommodation facilities offered include double room, single room and cottages. The bike ride was fun, we had to take 2 rounds due to the excitement and competitive spirit within. Falling down was quite obvious in such a setting as could be seen from Sharon (one of our friends who had joined us). There was a time it was so evident that she had come to her end point, " am not having another ride, am so done with life".

We spent our evening inside the beautiful lounge made of 'makuti' as we waited for our pizzas to be ready. Everyone was hungry after such a vigorous exercise and leaving the place without having a test of some of their delicacies would have not fulfilled our objective.
The talk got quite exciting as time went by, separating ourselves into two. I had to take some time with Joyce and walk around the swimming pool area. She really admired the lights on the pathway till we decided to take some photos with the green light illuminating our whole body, looking marvelous and beautiful.

It was getting late and Jack didn't want to leave, we had to force him to. Our major concern was not all about the time but our drive to the main road since we had decided now to use the shortest route and that was the one towards Kangundo road, somewhere we've never been before; our first time to use it. We finally set off, waving our goodbyes to one of the attendants. Reaching the main gate we had to ask for direction towards Joska from the guard who rushed to open it. Feeling like we now knew the direction (at around 8:30 pm), we got to a crossroad where we didn't know which route to take. We had to drive back to the guard to be given a clear way out once more😂. This was our second test. We never knew exactly where we were going. As Jack was driving through the dark bushy thicket, he glared at his side mirror and saw a motorbike following us causing him to accelerate to a speed of almost 100 km, it was just crazy. We were in the middle of no where almost everyone panicking. We got lost trying to trace our way back. Jack was at his maximum when we suddenly got to a valley so close we could have driven inside. His prowess in driving made him to hold onto the break at an instant making Sharon to catch her breath, and Joyce going speechless. I was calm at the back just taken through the whole drama in the wild. It was God indeed. Coming out of the bushes and started seeing the existence of human life was the best feeling ever. It was here that we noticed we were on the right track to the main road. All of us had now gained the courage to start talking positively after the terrifying moment😆. Such an experience required some cold drink at Joska town. After some deep conversation about the whole experience we now had to drive ourselves home. Personally its an experience worth not forgetting.
We truly enjoyed the whole scenario and entourage promising to return this time round during the day😆.
